Eat it Putin Bitch! What are you gonna do now?
Paphitis, before you put too much stock into this unsubstantiated claim, on social media no less, that Turkey shot down a Russian Jet, you need to see what's going on in Turkey at the moment. Erdogan needs a diversion from what has actually happened in Turkey yesterday with over 100 people being killed with the bombings, no doubt many pointing the finger at Erdogan himself as the guilty party for this massacre and rightly so. Also, with the elections coming up soon, why not try and capitalize on such a claim that he can also stand against a Super power Russia. Don't get sucked into such political propaganda. You are smart enough to see through all this smokescreen bullshit. In the first place, Turkey would not dare to shoot down any Russian Jets, assuming they even had the capability. Shit, 8 Turkish Jets had missile lock-on them by the Russians the other day and had to high tail out of the area.
Haven't heard a boo from Erdogan about this either confirming or denying.
I am not really saying it happened but I wouldn't be so eager like some around here to dismiss it straight away either.
All I have noticed just now is that there is an unusual quiet right now.
Btw, these are not the reports I am reading. The TAF is intercepting every incursion and issued warnings. They will not be high tailing it out anytime no matter what because that is an open invitation to Russia. I am sure the Turkish aircraft might have been locked but so were the Russians. The Turks don't high tail it. However, the Russians have been high tailing it the minute they are intercepted and they are intercepted straight away.
Meanwhile, the RAAF is confirmed that it will be continuing its operations within Syria against DAESH but the primary focus is Iraq. Flights into Syria will continue but apparently there were only 10 RAAF sorties into Syria in the last month and about 440 into Iraq.
The only thing mentioned so far is that Russian and US officials have been constructively discussing safety of their air operations in Syria to avoid any unfortunate incidents. Has this been motivated by the alleged incident in Turkey? It's not altogether unrealistic. Not to me anyway.
