Assad had 41 Rebel Groups fighting each other. Now that this is not the case, and we have a Coalition less willing to fly missions in Syria, what are they going to do?
They might be able to fortify the parts of Syria they control and they might be able to liberate some more territory but then what?
The only solution here is a ceasefire and all interested parties to the negotiating table, including Russia and Assad. OK DAESH won't come and they're probably not welcome either. We will want regime transition.
Any Rebels unwilling to toe the line can be sorted out later once all the logistics are agreed upon. And there will be a lot less concern over any outbreak between Russia and NATO.
Don't be surprised that Obama and Putin have been on the phones talking to each other for hours about this, especially if one of their jets was knocked out of the sky.
