Incidentally, that should be 'incapable of outperforming' - their English is not even that good.

Inside the Pentagon’s Fight Over Russia
In early September he circulated a PowerPoint presentation showing that in a head-to-head confrontation pitting the equivalent of a U.S. armored division against a likely Russian adversary, the U.S. division would be defeated. “Defeated isn’t the right word,” Macgregor told me last week. “The right word is annihilated.”

No disrespect to Tim, but labels are a British national obsession. :P

It seems the Russians are going in for labels now:

Moscow does not consider all those who took up arms against the official Damascus to be terrorists, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"We have never said that all those involved in the Syrian conflict are terrorists," she noted. "We said that there were terrorists, extremists and there was the armed opposition."

"That was why at the Vienna meeting the lists were compiled and a common understanding was developed of who should be reckoned among terrorists,"
Zakharova said. "Otherwise, what was the point of compiling these lists?".

There is debate as to whether there is any substance in a report by the Sputnik news agency that the Russians will meet a FSA delegation in Abu Dhabi next week:

A Free Syrian Army delegation has agreed to meet Russian officials in Abu Dhabi late next week to discuss the Syrian crisis, a Russian news agency said on Thursday, but representatives of four FSA rebel groups dismissed the report.

The Sputnik news agency cited a coordinator of the talks as saying the FSA delegation would meet Russian foreign and defence ministry officials.

The "War On Terror" Is The Hoax Foundation Of The Police/Spy State
The “war on terror” was a hoax. Americans were deceived by policymakers, who are pursuing a hegemonic agenda. The American people were too trusting and too gullible and, consequently, Americans were easily betrayed by Washington and by the presstitute media.

I've been reading the political mouthpiece of the FSA lately and I am quite impressed at how well organised their political arm is and the great detail in which they disseminate information. Of course the website has a slant as it is the mouth piece for the Opposition Forces, but still I found it to be a valuable resource in working out what the objectives are for the Rebels and it also reinforces the fact that not all combative groups in Syria are terrorist. It seems to me that there are many good people that still persevere in fighting for a more democratic Syria.

Their mouthpiece released a press release on the 27Oct15 denying these reports. They insist that claims of the FSA meeting a Russian delegation is false. Maybe this has changed by now, but I have found no evidence of it.

I can't help wondering if the despicable and cowardly act of bringing down a Russian civil plane carrying innocent holidaymakers has brought home to the Russians how imperative it is to annihilate Daesh, and that this must take precedence over the desire to keep Assad in power. I suspect they will hold some kind of meeting with some people in Abu Dhabi, although whether the latter genuinely represent the FSA will be up for debate.

The BBC has reported an instance of the Syrian army engaging Daesh, and succeeding. Music to my ears.

The Syrian army meanwhile has broken a siege in the north.

Army units fought their way to Kuwairis airbase, east of Aleppo, and eliminated large numbers of Islamic State (IS) militants, reports said.

The Syrian Democratic Forces are also making important progress, according to the informative site Daesh Daily (November 10 report):

Syrian Democratic Forces fighters advanced further in rural areas south of Hasaka, liberating four villages, killing twenty Daesh fighters, and cutting off Daesh supply lines, a media source says. Coalition airplanes bombed a Daesh defensive position as Syrian Democratic Forces units advanced, the SDF spokesman says, adding that his fighters have liberated 48 villages from Daesh control to date. [Hawar] [PUKMedia] [Welati]

DaeshDaily comment: Syrian Democratic Forces are attempting to capture more border stations between Syria and Iraq, which would enable them to cut off lines of supply between Daesh’s territory in Syria and Iraq; this would be a major development if it occurs.
