Syria on the other hand is a different matter. DAESH have regained momentum there due to Russian actions against groups which oppose DAESH. As we both know, there have been no Russian strikes against DAESH.
Yes, you can't fool all of the people all of the time. On the other hand, time has a way of bringing out the truth. It is early days yet.
In fact, there is talk - although it is not new - of the YPG and Free Syrian Army staging a joint operation to liberate Daesh's self-proclaimed capital of Raqqa. The YPG is gradually moving in that direction. There is talk on Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently about preparations to defend the town, with it claimed that all of the Daesh fighters there of local origin have been moved out, because Daesh thinks they will be more interested in defending their own homes and families than fighting for the 'cause' when push comes to shove.
If such an advance takes place, it will be interesting to see if the Russians start bombing the YPG and FSA, both of which support secular democratic values (although there are worrying claims about the YPG committing crimes against humanity directed at ethnic Arabs), in defence of the Islamofascists of Daesh.
