You have put your finger on it. Not all Republicans, in fact, but a wacko fascistic fringe of the party want a fascistic, Putin
style leader, not the noxious tyrant himself.,
Yes agreed 100%
I shouldn't have generalized so much because the majority of Republicans are probably just good old fashioned decent folk but there is a strong extreme right wing wacko faction in there within the mix who want a Putin
style leader and want the USA to go all Rambo into Syria like wacko Putin did in Ukraine.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of these wackos want the USA to declare war on Russia just to take wacko fascistic Putin down. It's almost tempting but I won't wish that upon anyone because the whole world will change in days.
All it takes is for Americans to elect a Putin style wacko and then it's all on for young and old.
The current US thinking on Syria is that, yes, they could go in, Rambo-style, and sort out Daesh and anybody else they want, and there is no doubt that they could, but this will only create the next problem down the road. They want a solution in which the right local forces are involved so that the solution sticks.
I view the prospect of a Trump presidency with alarm. It will be more dangerous for the world than Putin is.
Yes Tim I agree with this thinking and am thankful that the USA have adopted this reasonable approach.
In all likelihood, there will be much bigger problems down the track and the USA doesn't want to get stuck in Syria and neither do any of the coalition. Putin is welcome to it if they want to be there for 30 years plus.
I am very doubtful that there will be a solution either unless of course other groups are involved.
Yes Trump is a very loose cannon and I think he will be dangerous. I don't believe that the Republicans will nominate him. They have much better candidates than this imbecile.
