One reason I chose the lumix gx7 was because it has an electronic viewfinder as well as the screen.

I'm tempted, perhaps Father Christmas will get me one but I do find the GPS really useful for remembering where I took the photos.

You can link the gx7 to a mobile via wifi/nfc and get gps co ords on the photos that way. I like the remote phone control for the camera - I used when taking pictures of the moon for example. Camera on tripod - remote control via smart phone. Its pretty easy to connect the two as well if you have nfc - just run the app on the phone and tap it onto the camera - saves having to type in passwords and all that stuff on a tiny lcd screen.

I was pretty lucky when I bought mine - panasonic were doing a £100 cashback deal at the time and a free camera case - unfortunately that has ended now, but made the effective price of my gx7 with 14-42mm kit lens £333 , which with jessops deal came with an extra panasonic battery as well. I got the 14-140 lens second hand off ebay. The GX8 look really nice but its at least £700 just for the body right now.
