I don't think that a bunch of millionaire bearded fatsos with funny hats, who don't even pay taxes mind you, can provide a lasting solution to anything consequential. The Cypriot Orthodox church is our equivalent of Britain's royal family, a remnant that we keep around to 'remind' us of our identity.
You don't know anything about Orthodox Christianity. Come back later.
I know everything about Orthodox Christianity there is to learn as a Cyprus-born Cypriot. I had Thriskeftika at school and received Catechesis every Sunday and even sang in the church a few times.
I also remember when the archbishop came and bought the hotel where I worked during the summer and hacked and slashed the badget and brought only foreign workers to replace the Cypriot ones because they were cheaper.
I am also aware that the Cypriot Orthodox church controls KEO that produces alcoholic beverages and make serious money out of it but pay no taxes whatsoever.
I was also told that the Cypriot Orthodox church used to control Cyprus' public water supply until they were forced to cede the right to the Cypriot government.
The Cypriot Orthodox church is making good money out of poushtouthkia like you.
