As far as I'm concerned. Yes, I do subscribe to the DT. Although, unlike your view, it isn't my main port of call. I actually subscribe to others. Just between the two of us - I like the DT mainly because I love Matt. Also, a hobby of mine is going through the comments. Sometimes far more interesting than the actual paper. After several years I pride myself on knowing quite a few of the St Petersburgh trolls. I enjoy pointing that out to them. You HAVE to pay or you don't get the info! I make an occasional voluntary contribution to some one-man-band sites but the information is freely available to all. I get many signed up to e-mails a day from several sites and direct from Journalists/Authors.

I don't criticise what comes out of Russia because I don't follow Russian sites. I don't criticise Putin's actions nor the actions of Russia since he took power ..... because I see very little to criticise. I wish it was possible to say the same about the US Empire and its allies but what is happening everyday makes that an impossibility. IRGC says captures British oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has said that it has captured a British oil tanker for breaching international maritime law while crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC’s Public Relations Department said in a statement on Friday that the vessel named “Stena Impero” had been confiscated “at the request of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization when passing through the Strait of Hormuz, for failing to respect international maritime rules.”

The oil tanker was transferred to the coast to undergo the required legal proceedings, the statement added.

According to the Iranians, the Captains are suspected of breaking International Maritime 'Protocols'. They will impound the ship and if found to have breached the Law, after due process, the owners will be fined and the ships released..... when the fine is paid. The British did the same to the Iranian ship off Gibraltar because it breached EU (read US) sanctions.

Whilst the UK Foreign Secretary finds Iran's actions to be "Totally unacceptable .... and worthy of robust action", it seems its OK for the UK to enforce 'regulations' by impounding commercial shipping ............ but not Iran. Double standards?

Trump has said "We don't have many commercial ships in the area .......... but we have a lot of warships there!"...... obviously protecting American interests.

I feel we are in a situation very similar to that in the run-up to the utterance of the following statement:
