Accusations like this are common particularly when the vessels are intercepted and boarded by an armed boarding party. It happens all the time.

The Greek Coast Guard would have conducted its duties professionally.

This "news" story does not sit right with me. Very far fetched and that's putting it nicely.

It would bother me if it was a Greek coastguard at fault - because, such things are not in the nature of Greek coastguards! And since the article is veering all over the place trying to spread hatred without any actual facts, I'm not at all worried.

With some 100,000 so-called refugees all over the place, many now been identified as Turks, Pakistanis etc and only a few hundred coastguards trying to cope, I am rather more inclined to believe at the hints in the article that it is most likely opportunist so-called refugees who are out to rob the legitimate refugees.

I’m surprised you show so much sensitivity for refugees… yet never read anything about the 180,000 odd refugees from your own country!

And btw, in a war zone there are no banks open so it's very unlikely that a genuine refugee has that much cash on them. Some of us know what being a refugee is all about from personal experience...

I don't know about that.

A refugee is simply a displaced person who cannot return back to the area they fled from because of safety, war or environment.

It does not have anything to do with how much money they have.

There were some pretty wealthy GC refugees as well who owned luxury hotels in Famagusta and Kyrenia and they might have been loaded but according to the UNHCR, they are still refugees.

The above refugees came from Turkey so he could have got the money from there.

But I don't believe he had that much money either. I believe he might be lying.

Here by the way is a picture of the ship that the "Refugees" claim was the base of the attackers. We only have their word that they were attacked and that this was the ship the attackers came from.
