A bit small but ok. Every bit counts.

A much better contribution than the UK which will take 20,000 over 5 years.

Do the sums!

If Cyprus can take 300, USA must take 3 millions.

You mean 300,000

The USA has announced 70,000 in the first year. I anticipate more the following year. The USA is doing its bit.

Australia has announced 20,000 which it plans to take in right now. That's probably the best after Germany and Sweden.

These are huge countries... I'm sure they can take much more...

I am sure they will take more. That is what they are saying they are going to do.

Australia is not a huge country. It only has a population of 25 million and yet it has outperformed everyone except for the Germans, Swedes etc.

Wrong... Australia has a small population living in a huge country (by area)... that's why she can take much more.

Unfortunately, it's got nothing to do with area.

It has to do with the ability of a country to offer adequate infrastructure, support, and so forth.

If a country only has 25 odd million, then they are not about to take a million refugees and alter their demographics.

It's probably not a great idea to stick them in our open expances of desert either.

Greece confirms US asked to close airspace to Syria-bound Russian aid flights

On Sunday, a diplomatic source in Athens told RIA Novosti that Greece had refused to close its airspace to Russian planes carrying humanitarian aid to Syria.

Is it a coincidence that all these migrants are flooding Europe at about the same time Turkey and the US started "officially" air striking Syria?

What pure geniuses you all are.

The news story is another bogus piece of propaganda. For a start, Russia doesn't need to use Greek Airspace!

In addition, the flights are not aid flights but are probably taking weapons to the regime to be used to kill more Syrians.

Not only this but Greece is a coalition member so it can't really go against the coalition and allow these flights through. It would be more so a NATO Article 5 violation.

This is pure genius, right here;

On Tuesday, Mr. Kirby repeated the criticism of Russia’s role.

“Russia is not a member of the coalition against ISIL, and what we’ve said is that their continued support to the Assad regime has actually fostered the growth of ISIL inside Syria and made the situation worse,” he said, using an acronym for the Islamic State. “If they want to be helpful against ISIL, the way to do it is to stop arming and assisting and supporting Bashar al-Assad.”

I mean, you have to be an absolute idiot to come to this conclusion, that supporting Assad fosters the growth of Isil. Only an idiot would believe that.

ISIL is an enemy of Syria, the Syrian people and Assad. Who Mr Kirby is indirectly supporting here is ISIL. He is trying to hide the truth. Being that the US and Turkey have had an active role in Syria, which has also been fostering the rise and growth of ISIL.

I know, but do the American's know that?

Greece denied their request but Bulgaria complied with shutting down their air space to Russian flights.

Migrants erupt on Greek island of Lesbos.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ferry.html

This is where they all want to go ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFKHJ9c4R-4

Its an endless conveyor belt of agitated young men making demands and giving order to the host nations they have "invaded". They don't want to be registered. They don't want to stay in refugee camps. Is Europe supposed to welcome and integrate these people? This is something to be worried about. Their gratitude knows no bounds. Today Europe takes hundreds of thousands, tomorrow even more and they will keep coming. next year they will turn in to many millions.

Look at the mess, devastation and chaos they leave in their wake.

Europe needs to close off and up the protection and security of its borders.
