Say sorry and apologize

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Sotos it was not meant for you, unless you want to put your self in Piratis' place then ditto.

What you mean it was not meant for me? You won the war against Piratis only? I have family members that were lost and part of my family is refugees. Your war was against me also. Better do what the thread title says instead of saying "We won the war"!

I am sorry that your family had to go through all of this and I have to say that I have experienced this first hand myself with thousands of other people. When I said we won the war it is a statement of fact rather than boasting. My preference would have been that there was no war to win. Piratis has spent the whole of Christmas slagging of the entire Turkish race, what did he expect me to say. I gave my Christmas greetings to one and all at the beginning but he decided to carry on the war of words. When he comes to terms with what really happened in Cyprus and takes the blame where it lies just like we are then I will shut up and stop ranting like him. I have tried to stop thinking that I might be fuelling his anger but he needs no one. He really believes the half-truths he tells him self.

Sotos Gcs also contributed to 1974 and its outcome. this is like someone who starts a fight thinking he will win but he get wipped he cries but its not fair you hit me to hard. If you pick a fight and hit someone you have to be prepared to get hit back and hard.

Zan, I agree with you. Piratis says half truth but often you say 1/10th the truth ;)

Do you think it is possible to agree to to 9/10th truth with Piratis? ;)

I hope so Sotos. That is damned near perfect and if we can get to there we will have to change the name of the island to something like "Pleasure island". You would have to lock Piratis and me up in sound proof rooms though.

The problem is not the 5/10ths or the 9/10ths. The problem is the aim.

The aim of people like zan is partition and the gains of TCs on the loss of GCs. All his arguments will go in this direction no matter what we agree.

My aim is that we don't loose. I would be more than glad if nobody looses, and everybody gets what was agreed in 1960. However if the other side insists that there should be winners and losers because of the "realities" then my aim is to help change these realities so we will not be the ones who will loose.

And all this time I thought that you were after a solution.

Your whole argument is based on a fair deal within or without the EU but as usual you are now telling us that all you want is more than we get. Your crusade of self-riotous human rights obviously has a self-motivated agenda. If you were a trader on the street and you started haggling with your customers like that you would go home with a full cart and the nagging of your wife to look forward to. The next day to get more sales you just take along a gun.
