He, the Egyptian billionaire, has not " done it" as he was unable to meet the demands of the so called refugees.

Ten demands were made, 9 were rejected, amongst the 9 rejected demands included were:
Free Housing- Unemployment benefits- child benefits-Free medical care- Free education in Arabic- and many other "freebies".

The only demand accepted, and not by the Egyptian billionaire but Saudi Arabia, was a Mosque and an abundance of Madrassas, so that the refugees would not forget their wonderful culture that rendered them " refugees ".

The deal has been done with Turkey. Apart from more money, the sweetener appears to be visa-free travel for Turkish citizens in the EU.

I want to write an email to Merkel and ask her if as a Cypriot and citizen of the E.U I can enjoy visa-free travel in Turkey.

I believe that Cypriot citizens can enter Turkey without having previously obtained a visa. This was discussed on this forum years ago, if I recall correctly.

The odd thing is that Turkey appears to recognise the passports.

The Republic of Cyprus is internationally recognised, unlike the stolen swathe of Cypriot land Turkey currently occupies. Cyprus is also part of the E.U.
