this reminds me of ghandi when he was asked about western civilisation. he said it would be a good idea.

it would be a great idea. the question is how and when.

" Migrant crisis: Why the Gulf states are not letting Syrians in"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-34173139

In the meantime Saudi Arabia is offering....mosques to Germany!!

"Saudi Arabia has reportedly responded to the growing number of people fleeing the Middle East for western Europe – by offering to build 200 mosques in Germany.

Syria’s richer Gulf neighbours have been accused of not doing their fair share in the humanitarian crisis, with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the UAE also keeping their doors firmly shut to asylum-seekers."

This gesture is testament to the fact that the Saudi government [unlike others] recognizes the fact that "The Faithful" cannot survive on bread alone.... for as much as they need the sustenance [and shelter] generously provided in so many places, they also need the uplift to their spirits provided by the observance of their faith and the performance of their duties thereto.

The provision of such facilities offered by the Saudi government is a creditable one and surely suggests the very important fact :-
the "Migrants" will be among us ALL for some time yet [whether Legal or otherwise] and I think it might be wiser to get used to it. 8)

Bearing in mind that Saudi Arabia is just across the border from Syria, one can not help but wonder why refugees risk their lives to enter the EU , Saudi Arabia with its plethora of mosques, also the home of Islam's holiest city , yet the refugees seek peace and safety in Europe. Obviously they, the refugees, prefer Europe to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states....

Firstly, there are literally thousands of Syrian workers in KSA. But they are qualified people in most circumstances and as such they have their place as far as the Saudis are concerned.

As a refugee, KSA would not be a good place for you at all, particularly if you're a Shiite, or an Alawite. Even if you're Kurdish, I would not recommend KSA.

You would not be in a good place at all and without work you are the lowest denominator to boot. And they will provide nothing! No health, education or social services. You would be on the bones of your arse.
