The Hannibal Directive is a procedure used by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to prevent the capture of Israeli soldiers by enemy forces. It was introduced in 1986, after a number of abductions of IDF soldiers in Lebanon. The directive authorized attempts to stop abductors “at any cost”, even if it put captured Israeli soldiers at risk. The procedure is controversial and has been accused of violating international law and human rights.

What is really interesting is the fact that Azrael and her supporters justify killing of innocent civilians by the IDF using the 7th October attack as an excuse but refuse to see if there was a reason why Hamas attacked on the 7th of October. As the UN said, it did not happen in a vacuum.

But here is the thing, Hamas is accused of attacking innocent civilians and beheading children. No proof as yet as to who killed the civilians and how. It is also known that every kibbutz in Azrael has an attachment of soldiers stationed near it to defend the civilians. Here is another thing, about 1000 Hamas fighters managed to overpower 16,000 Azraeli soldiers, kill some and capture some as hostages. They also captured civilian hostages.

So far there is only two civilians who gave evidence. One woman explained how they were looked after when they were captive and another explained her horror of seeing IDF tanks firing into houses where there were Hamas fighters knowing that there were Azraeli civilians including children in them.

I had heard of this happening but I did not realise it was a government policy to kill Azraeli civilians and soldiers rather than allow them to be taken alive called Hannibal Directive.

The question comes up, why do Azraelis estimate their dead? Surely Hamas only had rifles and hand grenades as weapons, so perhaps they are having difficulty figuring the number from the fact that tanks shells obliterates the bodies into small pieces.

Surely a ceasefire at this point would serve many things.
1. It would stop the killings
2. It would allow people to be rescued if alive and recovered if dead from under the rubble.
3. An investigation can be held as to how many as well as how the Azraeli civilians were killed.

Also notice Azrael is not talking about a settlement, they want to continue with what they have been doing blockading Gaza and anytime they choose they can go in and kill innocent civilians claiming they are being used as human shields.

Surely if civilians are being used as human shields, those who are shooting at them are as guilty of a war crime as those who are holding them. While holding innocent civilians as human shields is a war crime, shooting at those shields is not considered to not be a war crime. The idea that so long as they warn the civilians to get out, it is not a war crime to kill them would be laughable if it was not so serious. Add to that the announcement made by Azrael Defense minister that after 24 hours any civilians remain in the north will be considered Hamas supporters and hence legitimate target. They are making up the International Law as they are going along.

Maybe Rees-Mogg should have made himself aware of the other side of the story regarding 7th Oct before he just regurgitated the Israel Military’s rather distorted and light on facts/evidence, version of events? Barnaby Raine obviously was aware! An interesting exchange none the less!

Rees-Mogg reflects the usual approach of all those that support Israel ..... they always start their timeline at a convenient point to avoid ‘history’ that sheds a different light on this conflict and avoid the facts.

The answer to “Do you condemn the HAMAS attack?" ...... should be “YES ..... but I can understand why they did it!” Raine’s response should have then been “Do YOU condemn the Israeli response?” But we know what the answer will be, as it always is “Israel has the right to self defence!” but why does this not apply to the Palestinians as it is THEY that are defending themselves against people who have invaded their homelands for over 70 years! The problem I see is that Israel does the very same thing and it’s OK ..... I believe they call it ‘pre-emptive defence’ ...... and that seems to wholly justify Israel’s abuses and war crimes.

The video has several cuts, therefore, there are no connections to the solar panels on the roof of the hospital, to the wires going into the ground, the tunnels to the so called “Hamas command center” , which was a hole in the wall that was smaller than my bathroom with couple of rusted weapons. A chair with some rope was suggested a hostage being kept there where there were no other items to be seen. A motorcycle with a bullet hole that may have been used on October 7th. Really?
