it is not exactly informed summary RW. It is very clear that Hamas cannot be defeated even every single fighter is killed. Because for every one fighter killed to joins the group.

The way forward is very clear. Israel will have to hand back agricultural lands it stole from the Palestinians around Gaza back in 1948 as well as all the land in the West Bank. If they want peace that is.
Palestinians have to be allowed to select their own government as a whole with no interference from anybody serving their interests rather then Zionists' and the Americans'.
They have to have their freedom to operate from their lands with ports etc. with no control from Israel.
Hamas has already won. Governments now are talking about recognising Palestinian state. Was there any such talk before Oct 7. In any case most countries when they form they are run by the fighters who won independence without exception.

When Gallant declared “a complete siege” with “no electricity, no food, no water, no fuel” on the grounds that “we are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly” – language later flagged by the international court of justice as potentially risking the right of Palestinians to be protected from genocide – why was he not taken at his word? Did our politicians and commentators believe that Gallant telling his soldiers he had lifted all “restrictions” and “restraints” on them wasn’t to be taken literally? When the Israeli major general Ghassan Alian specifically addressed “the citizens of Gaza” as “human animals”, and lauded a “total blockade” with the words “you wanted hell, you will get hell”, what room was there for interpretation?

How is this not a war crime?

The Israeli state repeatedly promised an atrocity of biblical proportions – literally, in the case of Netanyahu, as he invoked the story of Amalek, in which God orders the Israelites to “put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys” – and they delivered to the letter.

And what of the media? There have been courageous examples of reporting, but overall, I see this as one of the biggest journalistic failures in history.

This is democratic media. They decide what they are going to publish.

Finally it has started.

Ireland has announced its recognition of the state of Palestine in a joint move with Norway and Spain.
Irish premier Simon Harris said the decision was based on a belief in “permanent peace” and taken due to Ireland’s understanding of a country’s fight to be recognised internationally.

Biden and Blinken can go fuck themselves.

A brilliant article on Israel’s and the West’s genocidal acts against the Palestinians. It may only scratch the surface of their criminal acts, but there needs to be a start somewhere, and that start may have happened now, no matter how long it’s overdue.

Israel’s immunity cracks: The Hague goes after Netanyahu

The recent application for arrest warrants shows that even those backed by Washington can’t get away with everything.

The challenge of witnessing a historic event in real time isn’t to notice it. That’s the easy part. What’s hard is to understand its meaning for the future, which is what historic events are really all about. Recent news from the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague have confirmed that rule.

Its prosecutor, Karim Khan, has applied for arrest warrants that will make history one way or the other. The official application is a long document, but its key points can be summarized quickly. With regard to what Khan describes as “an international armed conflict between Israel and Palestine, and a non-international armed conflict between Israel and Hamas running in parallel,” he accuses the senior Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Al-Masri (aka Deif), and Ismail Haniyeh of a list of crimes against humanity and war crimes: extermination, murder, hostage taking, sexual violence (including rape), torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity, and other inhumane acts.

Khan also accuses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Yoav Galant of a similar set of crimes against humanity and war crimes: starvation of civilians as a method of warfare, willfully causing great suffering or serious injury, cruel treatment, willful killing, intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, extermination and/or murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.

Americans cant believe this decision can be made against them or any of their puppets. This sort of thing applies to dictators in Africa or the Russian/China sphere of influence.

I did not realise this simple fact.
According to the Palestinian Authority, which has limited powers in parts of the occupied West Bank, 142 of the 193 member countries of the United Nations already recognize a state of Palestine. They include many Middle Eastern, African and Asian countries

But not the United States, Canada, most of western Europe, Australia, Japan or South Korea

Bastards
.

Of course Ireland, Norway and Spain have joined in.

According to Biden it has to be negotiated with Israel. How the fuck do you negotiate with the Zionists when they do not believe Palestine should be recognised?

Biden has lost his marbles if indeed he had a few in the first place.

Shiiiiiit mmmmmmmaaaaaaiiiiiiiiin. Things do move fast.

Germany says they'll arrest Netanyahu if he sets foot in the country

Steffen Hebestreit, a spokesperson for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, confirmed on Wednesday the country would 'abide by the law' and arrest the under-fire Israeli leader should he visit the EU nation. This comes after British prosecutor Karim Khan announced on Monday that he is seeking warrants for Netanyahu, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as three Hamas terror chiefs including Yahya Sinwar, the ruler in Gaza who masterminded October 7. Netanyahu labelled the allegations a 'distortion of reality' and accused the prosecutor of 'callously pouring gasoline on the fires of antisemitism that are raging across the world'. Germany's decision comes after Israel’s Ambassador to Berlin , Ron Prosor, made a desperate plea to the German government to reject the ICC’s proposed arrest warrant.

This is very interesting. On one side they know if a leader is killed another one will take his place and yet in Gaza they believe it is worth killing 10s of thousands of civilians to kill the Hamas leadership even though they know it will make no difference.
