The Israeli Navy has intercepted the Women’s Boat to Gaza bout 35 nautical miles from the coast of the besieged Strip, Haaretz newspaper reported.

“According to a high-ranking officer, passengers on board the Zaytouna-Olivia offered no resistance when the troops took over the boat. The boat was redirected to the Israeli port city of Ashdod,” the paper said.

Communication with the Women’s Boat to Gaza has ceased leading media organisations and activists to believe Israel is jamming signal to the boat.

On it’s website, the group said: “At 1558 (CEST) on 5 October, we lost contact again with the Zaytouna-Oliva and presume that the Israeli Occupation Navy has surrounded it in International Waters (latest recorded position: Lat+31.906033 Lon+33.757630) and has forced it off its course to Gaza.”

Then why didn’t you start your own thread instead of trying to drown the dire plight of Gaza? :?

Surely you didn’t think that Greeks are in a worse situation than Gazans??? :?

You really need to start using that pea in your head… (I’m aware you assume it’s a plum) :-|

If you want another example try the "The pound takes a hammering ...........again!" thread, which is actually (apparently) about zero hours contracts, the British army, immigration, the recent Nazi coup in Westminster and fracking. It seems that if you can't make the "connections" you have a serious problem. Really, very amusing but ......... you couldn't make it up.

My wife went up to GAZA but not inside, and had to wear a bullet proof vest. There was also an Israeli security attache with them because there were people from other countries as well. Even the Israeli soldiers get jumpy.

It's pretty dangerous. I would be thinking about it very carefully if I were you, especially as a westerner from Canada. Hezbollah and Hamas are capable of anything.

For the third time in the past week, Israeli Occupation on Saturday opened the dams collecting rainwater towards farmland east of Gaza City, flooding hundreds of dunams of agricultural land.

According to WAFA, Israel opened the dams and drained the collected rainwater toward the Gaza Strip flooding and damaging hundreds of dunams of land planted with wheat, barley, peas, cabbage, and cauliflower.

Reports said farmers’ losses were estimated at thousands of dollars.

Hamas have been killed many Israelis. There are hundreds of rocket attacks on nearby Israeli towns that are situated near Gaza and within range. These attacks happen on a regular basis and the rockets literally fall ANYWHERE - onto markets, houses, schools, government buildings and so on.

My wife got to within a kilometer of the Gaza border. She was escorted by Israeli Soldiers (Murdoch Media) and was wearing a military style helmet like the soldiers were, and a bulletproof vest. Nothing happened that day, but Hamas militants are known to take pot shots at the Israeli Soldiers.

I wouldn't suggest visiting the place personally. It can be quite dangerous. Even the Israeli soldiers are on very high alert and literally on the look out for anything that is going to kill them and they are quite nervous and jumpy about being there themselves and they are well trained and good soldiers.

My wife didn't feel safe when she was out in the open. Your safety there ISN'T Guaranteed. It's Russian Roulette in every definition. It's a war zone. It's a dangerous place.

...an interesting thread, given the context, and how it ends,

cyprus46968-70.html?hilit=Israeli%20occupation

...this one too, on the same issue, also contains food for thought: on this subject, and ourselves (perhaps).

...while dated, because things are worse, still worth watching.

It's odd. Coming back to these threads and seeing Lordo posts. When he was around I thought he was the epitome of everything - wanker. Funnily enough though, I find myself missing his posts. Shite spelling an' all. :D

If you're out there Lordo, and reading this. How about starting again? Come back.
