Is New Zealand Greek?

Erolz seems to think so.

He believes the Polynesian Migrations slaughtered the Greek/Egyptian and Viking colonies which migrated to New Zealand at around 200AD

:D :D :D

You have to laugh - they all went there on a flying saucer - however so far the most obvious signs of pre-Maori long term settlement have not been found.

I am clueless about NZ history, but a quick search tells me that the Maori settled there at about 1250AD! That seems way too late considering that NZ is quite big and that Australia and other nearby islands had been settled much earlier.

Sotos

Australia is not so isolated. Northern Australia is separated by the Torres Straits from the Papua New Guinea and they are only 150 Km (93 miles wide) part at the near points, with lots of Islands in between, Indeed upto 12000 years ago it is thought they were joined by a land bridge, with either similar land bridges or far smaller inter island water distances between the various Islands that run in chain to the Asian mainland, so for ancient man to have got to Australia would have been very easy - barring a few short hops dry feet nearly all the way.

The closest point from mainland Australia and Tasmania and New Zealand is approximately 1,500 kilometres (950 miles) or so. .

That is long way and it is likely why NZ was settled so much later. It is so far from anywhere. The Europeans who first landed there in the 17th C (Tasman) did so almost by mistake, looking a large continent thought to exist in the Southern Ocean.
