finally we have a president who knows what he is talking about and does not bury his head under the sand.

The inter-communal talks for a settlement of the Cyprus problem aim to achieve the evolution of the Republic of Cyprus not its abolition. compare that with our first president and what he said in 1964.

During a visit to Athens in 1964, Greece and Nicosia agreed that in case of an attack by Turkey, the two countries will act together, not to support an independent Cyprus, but to ensure the unity of a single and undivided Greece. This pleased reporters who declared that enosis is almost there!

so why was makarios planning to defend enosis in 1964 with greace. this also expalins the purpose of 12,000 greak soldiers in cyprus. akritas never mentioned enosis. was makarios stupid or perhaps the akritas organisation was very stupid. can anybody explain.
