Since you find it, in a somewhat derogatory fashion, that " things happened while..... here is a short list of other " things" that also happened.
Each morning I woke up, each morning I took a shower, got dressed, had breakfast, went to work, talked to people, answered the phone, drove my car to and from work, had my usual bottle of red each night with a meal that I cooked. I also continued breathing !

In other words life carried on...

Why 'shocked'? Don't you recognise the modus of a man who unfold his grief on a public forum?

What I know of Miltiades is that he has suffered a great deal of death in his life and his way of surviving is to put a brave face on things and carry on as much as possible in a near-normal fashion.

He has a healthy attitude.

And once again, we must all try and remember, that life is about the living and not the dead - I wish I had Miltiades' attitude and then maybe I wouldn't destroy myself and my family every time I lost someone close.

I do agree Kurupetos - I have seen enough manifestations surrounding the death of some of my closest loved ones that I know there is a continuation somewhere. But it's tough when they are no longer around and you still have their messages in your e-mail and you cannot e-mail them back or you finally found a little trinket your mum lost a few months ago but she is no longer here for me to give it to her. Little everyday things.

I think Miltiades' approach is healthy (although, I suspect it's a facade for looking like he's coping with the outside world).

Early on Sunday morning I took my usual stroll in Minsk, even attending church !!

Since Im an early riser I spend a bit of time exploring the city, taking in the magnificent architecture and of course fascinated by the number of birds that you can approach and they are oblivious of your presence.

Had a good breakfast on my return to the appartment prepared by mot, got ready and set off to the riverside where the BBQ was to take place.

We arrived in good time, Vega was not yet there but sat at a bar and had a couple of beers.

A call on mot's mobile came telling us that they are, Vega and family, are at the entrance of the site.
MOT explained where we were sitting an a few moments later Vega and her family arrived.

Mot introduced me to Vega's brother's wife and the children to whom I made my usual Donald Duck sounds, always attracts a smile from children.
This is John, Mot said, my husband, I shook the lady's hand, named Tania, pleased to meet you I said. She repsonded introducing her husband, this is Alex my husband she said.

I shook his hand, he spoke English, turned round to MOT and asked in English, Did you enjoy his salami..... I looked at him unsure as to the meaning of his question but he quicly added and the parma ham !!! Nice to see you again John he said to me smiling......

What about the souls of animals? Even crocs, snakes and spiders must have souls and are they immortal too?

The moral of this true story is that Im stopped for the first time searched by a customes officer.
Im given a million BYRs, too much. I return the excess money, mot knows the young cashier.
Invited to a BBQ and the cashiers brother is the same customs officer that did me a favour really by letting me keep the food staff.

Such events are once in a lifetime. The two ladies were happy to meet up and the brother obviously had quite a sense of houmour.

Cypriots entering Minsk customs must know that the mere fact that this officer has related the story to his fellow customs officers therefore throwing a good light on the greatest race on earth, The Cypriots.

It would be healthy if he was doing it for the same reasons, not just because he's a windbag
