I’m reader/poster #3 who thinks you’re full of shit and a waste of space. You haven’t managed a SINGLE meaningful/relevant post in this thread.

You’re stuck in Turkish Cypriot fairy tales of the 50s/60s.

Not sure why you had to throw Turkey in all this but like I said... I don't fear ever being on the wrong side of the law and I trust that Cypriot cops are not like you describe.

Even if I ever *do* encounter the odd rogue type, I have faith in my superior intelligence managing the situation. It’s confidence in not allowing fallout.

Nah sorry mate... I've seen both the British and Australian Police forces completely fail in their respective countries because they did not have the backing of the public so they gradually succumbed to crime emboldened by laws that place the criminal ahead of the law abiding citizen. Sad but true...

These are now shitholes you wouldn't want to raise kids in.

DT. wrote:The police behavior was disgusting and unacceptable in this country. These animals should be thrown behind bars. Doesn't matter what the provocation was, you can't have a society that lives with arbitrary beatings by any policeman with a chip on his shoulder that's pissed off today because the steroids made his penis even smaller. Ffs..

And I've noticed some tc forum members have jumped on the bandwagon of condemning this act which I completely agree with and support. I expect you share the same feelings for the Tc policemen that beat to death live on TV Tasos Isaak and ministers of your regime that fired at an unarmed man climbing up a flagpole. Having seen tc police brutality up close and personal I strongly reccommend you lower the hypocrisy and increase the protest levels of such acts.

...indeed, well trained officers do not stoop so low, it is a matter of balance, it is an example of the situation going too far. It is a weakness, where strength is important. It's denial means stagnation.

I can't speak of the Btitish Police but Australian Police generally do a great job and our cities are the cleanest, most livable, and best in the world.

It's quite amazing how much I have traveled but never found anything anywhere that can knock Australian or Canadian cities of their perch.

There is law enforcement in Australia. You might want to try it in Cyprus. And a fine for being on an Ambulance ramp in Austria will set you back $400 not 40 Euro. I wonder what you would have said then, and whether you would do that again. Being 10 kms over the speed limit will set you back $450. In Cyprus I was 20 kms over the speed limit all the time on the highways and never paid a cent because the police give you grace. Not in Australia.

Oh and just recently, Australian Police shot 2 people dead. One pulled out a knife and the other guy a gun.

Even still, our cities are great because you feel very safe. We have a low incidence of crime.

Oh and we don't have many illegal immigrants other than a few students who overstay their VISA.

so 4 assholes confirmed. any more.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34020120
here is a classic example of what happens in the uk. a man is shot and critically injured during the process of trying to evict him. no other information since, which suggests he was not a threat to anybody as he would not open the door to them. if he was armed it would have been said by now. when they keep quiet it means he was not armed.

when you give a policemen a gun, at the point of use he will decide knowing that what ever he does the state will back him. all he has to claim is he felt his life was in danger or she felt somebody else's life was in danger. and of course it will i am sure turn out to be untrue.

charles de menezes comes to mind. totally innocent person shot five times in the head. was a policeman prosecuted for it. no the woman in charge of the investigation who was called dicks has been promoted.

sick as the dead parrot.

Hey dickface, it was a 7 hour siege for heaven's sake!

There wouldn't be a siege if the man was not armed with a gun now would there? The police wouldn't jist wait out the front for 7 whole hours.

I guess the BBC made the stupid assumption that people can put 2 and 2 together to make 4 but then there is always those who have a couple of isolated brain cells rattling about in their head.
