I personally don't need OR want a British person to describe to me, with their hoity toity accent mind you, what a federation is. All I urge them to do is withdraw their fucking bases from my country.

A video directed to Cypriots should be in Greek and Turkish.

Her accent is Cypriot one... not even a Charlie Cypriot ;) In any case such videos are totally useless. A federation will never work... at some point breaking up the federation in two separate independent states would not even be the worst possible outcome!! The worst possible outcome and the one which is more likely is that we would be stuck with a dysfunctional federation of a state which is under the control of Turkey. We should never accept a "solution" that can result in such thing. The TCs could be given semi-autonomous region(s) where they could handle their internal affairs largely on their own. The GCs do not need any "component state". Our only state would be Cyprus. Those who live in the TC autonomous region (TCs with a minority of GCs) would be equal Cypriots like all others but they would also have a second regional "citizenship" for their semi-autonomous region. This way Cyprus can not be controlled by Turkey and in case of secession (which can only be prohibited in theory, but not in practice) we will inherit the RoC and TCs would form a new state.

I agree… it’ll never work and it’ll result in Cyprus essentially handing over a chunk of her rightful territory on a plate to Turkey as TCs can’t be trusted and will concoct a million reasons to breakaway and hand it over to them.

A person making assertions based on incorrect assumptions should check their facts more, but often what should happen does not.

Discussions are all in the past.

Let's wait for Russia to destroy Turkey and then we can have the democracy we want. :D

Let's keep this kind of statements for contexts where they matter, like for example a discussion on the vitriolic Anan plan that you so love, and not for opinions and assumptions on people's accents.

The reason why I pointed out your mistake is because it typical of a kind of pathological behaviour that occurs here and in Cyprus more widely, not just with extremist nutters like GiG but with seemingly sane people like yourself - a behaviour where one simply sees and makes up what they want to be true totally independent of actual evidence or reality. You did not like the video - therefore by definition it must have been the work of a 'British' person. Actual reality was seemingly irrelevant to you. You do it again here with your assertion that I loved the Annan plan, when in fact I voted against it and have been open and public about that fact here ever since I did. Truth and reality are seemingly inconsequential irrelevancies compared to what you want to believe. This dismissal of actual fact and reality is a Cypriot behaviour that has played such a large part in fucking up Cyprus and keeping it fucked up and thus I try to avoid it myself and on occasion take the trouble to highlight it in places like this.
