How on earth are these super con artists allowed to continue ripping consumers off I will never know ( SUE ME IF YOU DARE )

A week or so later I received my telephone bill. An itemised item attracted my attention . 1 call to 118 118 was charged at £12.76 !!!

Will back you up on this. Had a similar charge for a matter BT wouldn't help me with which unnecessarily cost me similar through 118 118 but was of no benefit to me.

I never use this service since you can find almost everything on google and other search engines.
Some time last year my older brother came into my office one early morning and told me he had found a mans wallet in his road. There was no money in the wallet but a number of credit cards and other id documents with the name of the owner of the wallet. There was no telephone number, I did a quick search on google using the mans name to no avail.

We both decided that the man who lost the wallet must live in the road that my brother lives, so for the first time ever I dialled 118 118 gave the mans name and that he lived in Ederline Avenue London SW16,

The operator gave me the number asking if I wanted to be connected to it. Yes please I replied.
The phone rung, a man answered, I asked if he was the owner of the wallet giving the name on the various ids and he confirmed he was. I told him I had his wallet, he was unaware of its loss, thanked me and asked where to collect it from , my office is not that far away so half an hour later a very grateful man was reunited with his wallet.

A week or so later I received my telephone bill. An itemised item attracted my attention . 1 call to 118 118 was charged at £12.76 !!!

I wasn't going to have this despicable charge, I contacted 118 118 using their customer service number and I must admit they were very polite and agreed to pay me back their charge , £5.38 !!!

So the telephone service provider added a hefty £7.38 ON TOP. !!
Bloody crooks !!
So if you happen to be inn the UK NEVER NEVER use 118 118.

Or better still, don't lose your wallet, because Milti will just throw it in the bin.

It is £145.00 per annum per household .
The over 75s do not have to pay !!! ....30 years to go !!

My older brother at the young age of 75 and 8 months is elated that he does not have to pay, however he has just discovered that the TV licence has been on his younger by a few years wife for over 40 years.
Talking about my older brother I ought to mention that he has never used a computer neither does he want to use one as he is firmly convinced that computers spread viruses  :)

I only step foot once in my life in the UK, it was only for 2 hours, and the damn British ripped me off :!:

I was on a transit flight and the stupid clerk who issued the tickets gave me a non existing flight. When I found out I had my tickets re-iisued and this time the other stupid clerk instead of registering me on transit she had me unload at Heathrow and reload. I spent my 2 hours searching for my luggage in the basements of Heathrow. What an ugly and messy place! It reminded me of a more peasant place than Solomou bus station in Nicosia. Funny thing the British weighted my luggage and I had to pay the overload fee for a 2nd time-if I remember well I paid about STG 70.

And then Paphitis says people working at the air traveling business are special. Special in what, when 2 clerks in 2 different countries issued me wrong tickets? I guess issuing air tickets must be rocket science :P

It can be emotionally painful when you are ripped off [under any circumstances but] :-

I STILL reckon the most painful "Rip Off" is a wax job around the knackers.
