Missiles fall from warjet Akrotiri

Postby cypriotnado » Thu Jul 16, 2015 10:24 am

Two missiles fell from a tornado at a British base in Cyprus on July 15 as the aircraft returned from a military operation, without causing casualties, base officials said.

The runway was closed after two Brimstone missiles detached themselves from a Tornado GR4 while landing at RAF Akrotiri on the outskirts of the coastal town of Limassol.

British forces spokesman Kristian Gray said: "While landing on the runway from an operational flight, two Brimstone missiles detached from the GR4 aircraft. They did not detonate and no injuries happened."

That was lucky

Why should it have detonated? I don't see any place for the lucky reference. :?

These are very smart, very expensive pieces of machinery loaded with all kinds of electronics that will not just detonate like a WWII gravity bomb....

BTW, one of these babies costs £175,000 so that's £350k for a pair, now that's quite a waste :)

Oh shut up Dodo, with your Anglo, 'It's ok because its British' Bull crap. Even though you're incompetent idiots who almost decimated an an entire city.
But we're more than happy to bash Cypriots, because it makes us feel superior.

Hey Dodo, is the term 'British stupidity' applicable or is 'British Idiocy' more apt?
