The way they explain it to us here is that debt restructuring, no one used the word default yet, means deferring payment and getting a grace period for the interest. Sustainability is the buzz word going round.

The big discussion now, the one affecting all of us living here, is the banks and when they will open. And as if that was not enough, they created for no reason at all the problem with the safe deposit boxes.

In case you think who has safe deposit boxes. Many people do, they became popular since the crime wave of the 90s. That is where people keep mostly deeds and portable family heirlooms and jewellery.

Legally limiting access to such chattels and documents is hardly tenable. Even if the boxes contain cash, they are not in accounts, the money is legally in a similar state as money under your mattress.

The question buzzing on the radio and the net is why this, why now. What comes next.

Problem with that is that Italy (owed around 45 billion from Greece) may not survive such repercussions and cause a domino effect.

We’ll have to wait and see… I'm interested to see what the Italian government will say tomorrow.

Maybe Italy and Spain should be spared from the haircut.

Germany invaded Greece, bled it dry and killed 1 million Greeks and post WW2 Greece forgave some war reparations. Maybe the should get the lion's share, or allow Greece to print Euros and devalue the currency this making it more suitable to the poorer countries.

There are many ways to skin a cat. What is unacceptable is depriving Greece from its αξιοπρέπεια.

Emboldened by the referendum result and the fact that Samaras just resigned, Tsirpas will no doubt start making ridiculous demands…

Don’t say that just yet… lots of people want their money back so this ain’t going away.

They’re gonna gang up on him at the international level and then Greece will surely feel the wrath of global creditors.

They were already talking about “regime change” last week in Brussels…

Ocean,

You are a right thinking person and cannot fathom the twisted depths of a left wing Greek mind. The point is that Tsipras now gets the upper hand in his own party and can deal with uppity voices of contention like Lafazan and Zoi and naturally Barufuckis. The Euro was the visible pretext. Wait and count the slices of the party guillotine in the coming weeks.

Nazi party leader is speaking right now praising the people for the OXI vote. Now we have seen it all. Well not all, wonder if he will be participating in the political party leaders council tomorrow.
