This is true, and they have no intention to either.
A system built on corruption with no industry to fall back on is bound to fail.
where a Cypriot or a Japanese after a major national meltdown would roll up their sleeves and get to work, Greece will look for the nearest escape route and dodge responsibility.
Greeks are very hard working and the average wage is 600 to 700 per month.
The young ones really are doing their best.
But on the same token, I would like to know how many Greek Corporations are actually registered in Cyprus and pay taxes to the RoC to avoid the 28% company tax rate in Greece. I could say that Greeks are actually propping Cyprus up!
Greece is very uncompetitive.
The banks yes, Bank of Cyprus in particular.
I have first hand knowledge of the millions of Euro that fled Greece and ended up in Cypriot banks.
Oh yeh right! As if this is unique to Greece!
I would do the same thing given the uncertainty and let's face it, it is their money that they worked for and paid tax on so where is the issue.
How many billions fled Cyprus only a couple of years ago. Even political leaders were in on the act.
Are you trying to tell me you would not move your money around given the fact that Greek Banks are on the verge of Bankruptcy?
This is a global economy and you will find that American, Australian, German, Chinese corporations do the same and even set themselves up in particular low tax havens. Money can be transferred by a single mouse click.
