Cyprus is well into its recovery and austerity will end in a few months as the economy transitions to surplus.

Nikitas wrote:The Greeks have been cowed into violating every single "red line" they had specified since the elections.

There are even demands that the Greek parliament legislate by July 15 several complex financial bills and the resposne was "yes sir".

Now if that is having someone by the bollocks then it taxes my semantic abilities. Unless of course we confuse in this grand ballsup whose bollocks are in whose hands.

You know that old Greek joke about the orgy and the guy shouting "we must get organised".

That midnight session of Parliament was a grave mistake. Now, the Europeans have called Greece's bluff.

Now, they will make any demands to test Greece's resolve to stay within the EZ but some countries are adopting a very hardline against Greece - Finland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Germany and even Malta.

Only Italy, France and Spain are on Greece's side and probably because they may be next on Germany's hit list.

It's an uphill battle now Nikita. Greece blinked with the midnight session.

They better start preparing for the Grexit because I see it almost inevitable.

what hit list are you talking about boy. greace owes 320 billion and needs another 85 billion. if she cannot pay back 320 how the hell is she going to pay back 405 billion.

I suspect the Germans are thinking:

The money we will have wasted trying to raise the dead (Greece) we can just put 1/5 of that aside to safeguard Italy from a possible domino effect. Problems solved!

Makes perfect sense to me…

Oh yes, and how much does Spain and Italy owe? While you're at it, tell me how much the UK owes.

Spain and Italy could be the bombs that rock not just the EZ and EU but all the international financial markets. And if that happens, then what happens to UK, Japan, China, USA and Russia?

320 Billion is really a drop in the ocean in the big picture.

Italy could give in the future and it won't be because of any domino effect.

The Euro has been a huge failure so watch out in Cyprus too because one day you will be hiting your heads against the brick wall while Greece could be functioning with its Drachmas by then.
