I have until now been puzzled as to why these young men travel long distances to join the DAESH death cult. I always had a suspicion that sexual frustration lay behind it. I thought these sexually frustrated men were so brainwashed as to genuinely believe that they would be given 72 virgins in heaven if they died a martyr, and thus obtain satisfaction. However, this explanation still seemed a little implausible to me. I find it so hard to believe that anybody, however indoctrinated in religious dogma, can really believe in anything so absurd and ludicrous as the notions of places called 'heaven' and 'hell' where the souls of the dead go. Now I see what it is. These sexually frustrated young men may not necessarily have been taken in by the fallacy of religion but, nevertheless, live in conservative and restrictive communities in which all outlets for fulfilling their sexual desires are denied to them. They hear that if they go to Raqqa, they will be given multiple wives and there are sex slaves being bought and sold as commodities. Bingo. Hence the rush to go there. This accounts for reports that foreign fighters are reluctant to leave the den of depravity DAESH has set up in Raqqa and go to the front or the way many DAESH fighters fled for their lives to Turkey when the YPG liberated Tel Abyad; odd courses of action for those apparently desirous of dying as martyrs.

Am I on the right lines, Gavarnoss? How about you tell us something about you and what motivated you to join the DAESH death cult.

First of all he is a muslim.
