Was Greece, the orchestrator of the Turkish invasion, one of those NATO countries ?
Greece was part of the play, the orchestrator's were the US and Britain.
Indeed, all of them involved are NATO countries.
"Your going to be my friend and we are going to have our military in your country, to (NOT) protect you or we are going to kill you." --- Its insane!
Once again you must ask yourself why!
Cyprus was the sacrificial lamb to Greece and Turkey. Why?
Was it because we were on the outer and a little to cosy with the Warsaw Pact countries?
Do you think it would still play out the same way if we were in NATO? Mmmm I wonder!
So Greece can be in NATO and have and maintain good relations with Russia.
Cyprus can not be in NATO or have good relations with Russia.
Greece and Turkey are in NATO and have poor relations with each other to the point where they are on occasions on the verge of war.
Yeah, it all makes sense. No need to wonder or ask why.

makarios had a plan agreed in 1973, if he accpeted that there would have been no coup and no invasion. he did not agree. the fault is makarios and makarios only for not accepting the agreement. he said i did not sign an agreement in 1960 to exclude enosis to sign another one excluding enosis again. the trouble with people like you is you cannot see the truth if it was a train hurtling towards you at 100 miles an hour.

It may be said that he played the powers, i say thank-goodness, with the non-aligned movement, the world took one step away from a Cold War with its nuclear proliferation; it was not a matter of picking "sides".
