Due to my deep antipathy for air travel I get to Cyprus whenever I can hitch a ride on a merchant ship, so arrivals are not planned, neither are hotels and car rental and the result is bloody expensive.

Are there any low cost rooms and car rental companies in Cyprus? I am not looking for hotels with pools and views etc. And I do not mind renting a manual gear wreck either.
