The reports re the ore estimates were in Yeni Duzen. They put the copper deposits close to 3 million tons.

no i never said that. i said you would never get it out unless you sign. on land it is another matter. in the sea within your 3 mile limit the same but outside is a different matter.

The EEZ is a matter between Cyprus. Lebanon, Israel and Egypt which have all signed the LOSA.

The trashcan isn't even allowed to sign our toilet paper. Sorry!

Interesting, my personal opinion is that the environmental cost of mining the area will far outweigh any short term monetary gains.

Those who are old enough to recall the CMC days, when the sea in the Xeros area was red with the mining effluent know the environmental cost. But, if the mining company is Turkish, be sure that the TCs will bow to "patriotic" pressure to grant mining rights and the environment can go to hell.

Interesting that the one major joint GC-TC industrial action in Cyprus was the strike of CMC employees.

My grandfather worked in the CMC mines. That is where he learned his engineering skills which he later employed to bring water, via a tunnel he dug with the help of two apprentices, from the source to the village.

i did not hear you say such things when gold was found in anglisia. what kind of a comment is that, we have a bit of resources and we should keep it there. how about apply eu rules on mining see if it makes any difference .
