On the guzey side of the ceasefire-fire line, as well as bordellos and dodgy gambling dens which are very popular with Jerkish Beezinessmen who we hear fill the flights into the illegal airport at Occupied Tymbou, there is also the shitehole of a village at Occupied Louriciginia, renown throughout CY as the dustiest and most ugly village in CY.

So utterly appalling and revoltingly bad is the state of this village that the TA have it Isolated it from the rest of the World by running an Embargo, creating a virtual Enclave, with checks on those entering. ...

... and prob veterinary health checks on those leaving.

Pyro, your description of why people cross the line is fascinating.

It brought back memories of exclusion from the "Tourjika" as TC areas were called in my childhood since way before any trouble started. When we lived in Nicosia we were actively discouraged from entering the Locmaji area by TCs. Our local taxi drives were asked to leave their TC fares at the start of the TC areas.

Then we moved to Famagusta and going into the old city was definitely not allowed, again by TCs. On one school trip we visited the famous Famagusta Lion and the walls by approaching them from the north side, but were still kept out of the old city itself. This was before 1963.

Now, the thought of seeing once familiar places all called koy something or other brings no curiosity whatever. And there is the sense that if I was not welcome then, I am probably not that welcome now. Naturally I know that not all people go over for the whores and the gambling.

Lordo try to keep quiet when you don't know what you're talking about.

En pao sta tourjika means I refuse to go to the Turkish parts. It's how we describe the regions that are occupied.

It was used during the 60's and its used since the invasion.

It is also used to describe the language.

in any case why was there a need to say the obvious. you were not able to go to the terggish sector so why say it.

Yes sadly there are a few stupid ones who will vote for this to be hanging over the heads of their children and Grand Children forever.

Thankfully, they are a massive minority.

Let them guarantee only the TC zone/state/colony - call it what you will. Any incursion into the southern area would be considered an act of war. They have, unfortunately, achieved separation, there is no need for universal guarantee since the TCs are no longer spread throughout the island. If Turkey insists on guarantees for the whole of Cyprus their long-term plan for the island will be exposed to all.
The most important "concession" they will have to make is how much territory they will give up in order to come to an agreement.
