You are entitled to your view from far away down under, but I am in it and I love it. I can live and run my own microbusiness in Cyprus, get on the phone with potential clients all over Europe and pay about the same charge as for a domestic call, quote a price to clients anywhere in the eurozone in the same currency with no currency risk on either side and receive payment with no exchange costs and low transfer fees from one euro account to another. In the long run, this will make Europe, having about the same area as Australia, stronger and richer than if we divide and start squabbling and fighting wars again. It isn't ideal and needs reforming, that's for sure.
yes I am entitled to my opinion and I am closer to the EU than you think and almost in your timezone as a matter of fact.
But nevertheless, the EU has left its legacy in Cyprus and Greece and they will bring Spain, Italy and Portugal to its knees as well.
Then you have the refugee crisis and no country is able to legally deal with it. Being a part of the EU will destroy countries - in fact it already has.
It's interesting how you had a shot at the British Elites, which I agree with, but then are supportive of something even worse than that. The EU is a buearocratic monster only accessible to the elites and the rich and ruling classes and they are crapping all over the poor.
These big blocks are far too big and they will not be looking after you. They will eventually tax you into poverty.
Anyway, I like the Australian way the best. There is no way Australia will sign anything that will crap all over its ability to exercise any control. The Americans are the same as well as the Kiwis. We only want Free Trade Agreements and that is where it ends. But it's a different matter for Germany because they are well and truly in charge and in control.
decades ago, we sent troops over to fight Germany and now they are managing to divide and conquer in an another way. How times change indeed.
