I know yesterday was Wednesday; and that's as far as you can manage in truth!

YOU - the self-proclaimed non-butcher of facts and bringer of 'good news' - have NOT supplied any evidence that the EU commission has threatened Greece with sanctions.

Once again you bring lies and distortions to propagate anti-Greek ill-will.

You cannot even share a moment of goodness that those fishermen, who risked their lives to save the migrants Turkey put into danger, are in people's thoughts.

You sad, pathetic ninny.

WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE? Don't bother with lies. You said the EU Commission and that's all you need to provide.

Understand, slime?

Yeah the Guardian (your source on the first post), the Irish times, the independent - these are all producers of 'junk' , when you do not like what they say. When you do they are credible sources. Exactly the kind of reality distortion field you operate in.

I provided the link of the EU commission's press release. A press release where it explicitly states that the finding of the Comission's report were that

On this basis, the draft report concludes that Greece is seriously neglecting its obligations and that there are serious deficiencies in the carrying out of external border controls that must be overcome and dealt with by the Greek authorities.

The press release also then goes on to outline what sanctions the EU can legally take against Greece if it fails to address these 'serious deficiencies' within a three month deadline.

Where, after three months, serious deficiencies persist and the measures taken have not proved sufficient to ensure the adequate remedy of these deficiencies, the Commission may trigger the application of the procedure provided for in Article 26 of the Schengen Borders Code.

You can play all your silly word games all you like, you can make out that newspapers like the Guardian and Independent are purveyors of 'junk' but the TRUTH remains the truth and you just show how divorced from actual reality you are. There is no doubt that the EU Commission is threatening Greece that it if fails to meet it's obligations under the Schengen agreements then the sanctions laid out in article 19a and 26 could be used against it. That is the truth, I know it, the Guardian newspaper knows it, the Independent newspaper knows it, the Irish Times knows it. Everyone knows it yet you will sit here and make out that they are all lying distorters of the truth because that is what you do and that is what your fictional world view requires. Same old same old.

It would be in Greece's (and Cyprus for that matter) best interest to be removed from the Schengen agreement. Nothing but trash comes in with it. Any respectable person would obtain the necessary visas.

Sorry to barge in like this, erol. I just wanted to point out this woman is intelligent and educated but she is definitely a few pence short of shilling. Don't waste your time, might as well talk to a stray dog.

MIGRATION — SWEDEN PLANS TO EXPEL 80,000 ASYLUM-SEEKERS: Sweden will expel up to 80,000 asylum-seekers who arrived in 2015 and whose applications had been rejected, interior minister Anders Ygeman said Wednesday. “We are talking about 60,000 people but the number could climb to 80,000,” the minister was quoted as saying by Swedish media. http://bit.ly/1ZUhoCk

GREECE — THREE-MONTH NOTICE TO FIX ITS BORDER OR BE EJECTED FROM SCHENGEN: Greece “seriously neglected its obligations” to control the EU’s external border, the European Commission warned Wednesday. Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said “more needs to be done [by Greece] … This includes proper reception, registration, relocation or return of migrants in order to bring Schengen’s functioning back to normal.” Athens now has three months to improve the situation, or face border checks being forced on it “to protect the common interest of the Schengen area.” Commission statement | POLITICO

GREECE — FIGHTS BACK IN MIGRATION TUSSLE: The Greek Foreign Ministry is circulating a document called “Refugee Crisis 2015 — facts.” For example, the Hellenic Coast Guard rescued 103,372 people last year. And they expect to shell out another €350 million for rescues in 2016. Greek government spokesperson Olga Gerovassili pushed responsibility away from Greece and onto Turkey: “Just two days ago, EU interior ministers reached a decision for a common European solution to the migration crisis. The decision’s main point is that managing the refugee flows depends primordially on Turkey and on Turkey’s compliance with what has been agreed. However, the EU-Turkey agreement does not advance, without anyone in Greece being responsible for that.”

...from Politico, for the record.
