There is no such place in Cyprus.

How many votes it got? In any case Varoshiotes alone can not make a plan pass even if the 100% of them vote in its favor. Vastly better for me means that for the majority of the population what we would give up would be clearly less than what we would gain. Personally I wouldn't vote for a plan that would put at risk the security of my family and the stability of our country just so that a portion of the refugees would get their land back. Some seem to think that even the most convoluted solution will work just because we are in EU ... which is bullshit.
Actually this thinking is totally wrong. You just assume there is stability in the country, and you just assume the whatever degree of security you have. The reality is the whole economic system could collapse ANY minute. All the Banks are deep in dept, they work on loss and they pay their employees and high positioned from people's deposits.BOC even dared announce cooked "profits" this year while Hoorigan is abandoning it real soon. Security? Turkey is threatening constantly, what do you think will happen if negotiations don't move forward really fast? Will they ever let us take the gas out without a solution? Or you think the Israelis will protect us?
Have you ever thought what could happen if we turn down a new plan?
Imo all GCs should evaluate very seriously not only what they will get from a new plan (compared to what they will give) but also what they may loose from what they now take for granted.
May I remind you that one major argument against the Anan Plan was that we should be stupid to vote it 4 days before entering the EU, in which we would get the "super plan". Well, you said it yourself the EU proved bullshit.
I heard no-one saying it in 2004 though
It's nice to draw safe arguments for past misleads. The tough part is to be smart enough to foresee them before they prove themselves.
The economy problems today are an unrelated issue. A bad solution will just make those problems worst and will also create new problems like political instability and loss of security. As far as gas goes we can't lose something we never had. The question is how much we can gain from the gas. You think that with an Annan plan type solution Turkey will stop being interested in our gas?? They will take whatever they want using the TCs and we will not be able to even fight for our rights because we would be downgraded to just a community. Personally I will never vote for any plan which will downgrade us from a state to just a community. Either "us" will be all of us together (GCs and TCs) one person one vote, or if there is separation then GCs as the native majority should rule Cyprus and the TCs can have autonomy over a region. I will not vote for anything less than that because it would be worst for us than any other kind of partition.

Gas is the only thing that might save us....
