And yet Greece all on its own is turning heads and sticking it up the EU and the Germans.

The point is, Cyprus is an independent country to Greece. Australia has more influence on Anastasiades than Greece does.

The last 5 Cypriot Presidnts have had official visits to Australia since Vasiliou.

There is no reason why they should not visit, and when they do, it is as Head of State. As such, the meet with the PM and FA Minister at least as well as any others if there are trade deals or other bilateral arrangements being made.

Not only this, but when the Cyprus President arrives in Australia, they are carried on one of the Prime Ministers RAAF VIP jets such as a Dassault Falcon or the RAAF B737 Air Force 1 if with the Oz PM or FA Minister and are always escorted by ASIO secret service. Even when the Cypriot President visits the community you can see that he is always surrounded by well dressed security people with ear pieces behind dark shades.
