Sheftalia?
Halloumia?
Flaounes?

Greek?
Ask any Greek national if he's familiar with those and then get back to me.

Greek Pastry shops actually sell them. Wouldn't have a clue how to make our own.

My wife buys them from Greek Pastry shops she goes to.

Probably not as good as home made, but we think they are just fine.

If the world wants to be entirely correct, then they should call it Byzantine Coffee.

This is just another example of Turks claiming wrongful credit. Seems to be a recurring theme with you guys.

First and foremost I am Cypriot. Don't really have much time for mainlanders. The thing that gets my back up is exactly the opposite of your accusation, it is really the Greeks that want to claim credit for everything or at least most things Turkish. Before you start an argument I'd like to reiterate, I don't give a shit about mainland Turks nor Greeks for that matter, my heart and soul is in Cyprus and all Cypriots.

Then what are you suggesting?

Are you wanting to call it Cypriot Coffee? I don't have an issue with that.
