cypriot shipping needs re-branding

Postby Lordo » Tue Apr 07, 2015 12:39 am

if it is as good as they claim it is, why does it need re-branding.

what it really needs is peace so terggish port can open but that is a double edge sword. open your ports to terggy and they will kill your agriculture and industry. and thats just in the first week. before you know it it will be the terggish flags flying in downtown south lefkosha.

Lordo, you stupid boy, you have it arse about face. It is Turkey illegally stopping Cypriot connected ships trading in Turkish Ports, not the other-way round in breach of their EU accession obligations.

There is no ban on on the part of the lawful government of Cyprus on any trade between Cyprus and Turkey, only of trading to closed ports in the Turkish Military Illegally Occupied zone, which poses as the puppet regime of the so-called and unrecognised (except by the occupier) TRNC Pseudo-state, .

End the illegal occupation and return to the fold of the ROC and those ports will be legally open.

see http://cyprusbusinessmail.com/?p=6736

Personally I would impose a reciprocal EU wide ban on Turkish ships and planes from EU waters and air space, and end the customs union.

are you saying that terggy is allowed to dump all her agricultural produce into the south, casue i beg to differ. they never allow terggish goods to go south via the north. if there was no problem with terggish goods and there is freedom of movement of goods between north and south, why the problem. you seem to assume a lot. you know what happens when people assume dont you.
terggy has no problem with any other eu country including greece. there you go again hiding behind the europeans and taking pot shots at terrgy hoping they will not reciprocate. have you learnt nothing from the past 60 years.

That is because the Turkish goods in question are being illegally imported into closed ports and illegally passed off as Cypriot goods, and consequently do not comply with documentary requirements for origin and phytosanitary certification.

Bring them in legally through open ports properly certified - if any one will buy them.
