Serkan...i've heard numerous Turkish Cypriots tell me they are unwelcome in some of the Turkish-settlers majority villages. Is this true?

I visit cyprus regularly and i must say that i have never witnessed this, in fact i have witnessed the reverse. From my experiance they're is a certain level of resentment of mainland Turkish migrants because as is the case with Turkish migrants across europe these people are willing to work harder and cheaper then the so-called 'natives'. what is amusing is that second generation mainland migrants react to new migrants in the same way as cypriots do. I must admit though that i am from western Northern Cyprus, there is a much larger Turkish mainland community in eastern Northern Cyprus therfore i may be ignorant to the animosity in majority villages. There is slight animosity but I think that it is overstated in the face of current political animosit.

Thank you Serkan, as always, things aren't the way they are betrayed, I just wanted to know what life was like in the TC community during those years, as I'm sure every waking moment wasn't spent on hating or even thinking about the Greek Cypriots.

I didn't ask about the relationship between Turkish mainlanders and Turkish Cypriots but your comments mirror what I've seen and heard in my visits to the North.

In late 2003 myself and a GC friend were sitting in a coffee shop in Morphou, two old TC guys we were chatting to were practically spitting blood (in perfect Greek and English) about the mainland Turks, having said that they weren't in any huryy to cosy up to the Greeks either.
