where do/did you get your sources from?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

If I say TC papers then I will definitely be accused of reading biased info. I f say Greek papers I would be then accused of reading the wrong Greek papers. If I say I read unbiased foreign written books then, I will be accused of reading books written by authors who were/are paid by the Turks. If I chose critisize what a (supposedly) Turkish newspaper (ie: Africa) writes then I am accused of being a “hypocrite” and an “ultra-nationalist”.

I get my info from the same places as everyone else and also make up my own mind what I should believe or should not believe, just like the rest of you in this or other forums.

Paranoia run in the family, or did you develop it in later life?

Nope, it's not paranoia, GC's and Greeks are very good teachers.

Paranoia is not a genetic disease, it is a self-defense instinct which develops as a result of experience.
People becom paranoic when their trust and good will has been abused before.

looking back what a waste of time it was that i wrote :

PS. it would be really kind of you if you didnt comment on each others sources. the purpose is perhaps to get some sources ourselves rather than arguing that the "other" source is biased

and its not even erics fault

Never mind,cypezokyli...Your motivation was noble. There will always be people who will twist every situation to suit their aims.
I must say Eric Dayi is showing remarkable restraint given the ravings by our friend from the Trodos mountains.

Komshu,I came across this reference in one of my notebooks, can't remember how it got there,or whether it is objective or not,but you might like to check it out:
It's a book by Harry Luke called "Cyprus Under the Turks"...

May your spirits lift you to the lap of the Gods (an old Turkish saying I just made up :D )

I hope I am not amongst those people who upset you,Eric.
If I am I sincerely apologise.I know that you love Cyprus as much as I love Cyprus, and you want what is best for all Cypriots.I just believe that your solution will not be in the interest of all Cypriots, not even in the interest of all Turkish Cypriots. We'll have to agree to disagree on the means to the end till one of us is proven wrong.

He was a silly boy to send you an abusive PM.Serves him right,I'd say. :D

TheCabbie, no probs, have years of experience in these things, I don't just say things just to make a noise.

I also have great respect for people who can apologise for their mistakes, thank you.

Birkibrisli, you can believe what you like, I've told you what I believe in and I can tell you that your idea might be just the right thing in year 20005 but right now it is the worst thing that could happen to the TC's and the GC's as it will lead to more bloodshed and sorrow for all concerned. Or do you really think that you can get rid of 600 years of hate out of the Greeks within a very short period of time?

BTW, just in case you didn't believe what I said about the Turks in Greece, read this. Sorry for the off topic subject but I can't remember where I mentioned it before.

E.U. Ignores Problems Of Turkish Minority In Greece, Cemiloglu
TEKIRDAG - Hikmet Cemiloglu, the Chairman of the Xanthi Turkish Association (ITB) closed by the Greek Supreme Court in February, claimed on Thursday that the EU was applying double standards to Turkey regarding the issue of minorities.
Speaking to the A.A correspondent, Cemiloglu said that while the EU was provoking the Alawite Turks saying that they were minority in Turkey, it was ignoring the problems of the people of Turkish descent living in Greece.

Cemiloglu noted that the EU stated that it had concerns over the little progress recorded by Turkey in freedom of religion.

''The EU is putting pressure (on Turkey) for opening of the Heybeliada seminary while it ignores the Turks in Greece who want their rights stemming from the Lausanne Treaty,'' indicated Cemiloglu.

Cemiloglu added that the EU had been indifferent to the unjust attitude against the Turkish minority in Greece.

The legal process against the ITB began in 1984 and ended with a decision of the Greek High Court on February 7th, 2005 that closed it and ended its activities. The court decided to close the ITB for using the term of ''Turkish'' in its official title.

ITB was established in 1927 as an association to promote social, cultural and sportive activities of the Turkish community in Greece.
