Job scam e-mail

Postby Tim Drayton » Tue Feb 10, 2015 11:45 am

I am currently being bombarded with e-mails from various addresses all beginning:

"Καλημέρα!
Μας άρεσε το βιογραφικό σημείωμα σας και αποφασίσαμε ότι ενδιαφέρεστε να δουλεψετε στην εταιρεία μας."

The fact that these messages are being sent from a whole host of different addresses shows that this is certainly a scam. Some slimeball is hoping to cream off some money from people desperate for work in phony advance fees etc, and you will find that they are spoofing other people's e-mail addresses so that they can't be traced. Do not fall for this trick.

That's not the point. These same cheesy old scam e-mails keep coming around, which means there are still idiots out there giving their money away to these criminals, so if I can take one small step towards raising awareness, and make it harder for these crooks to steal, I will.

its normally about how they have 20 million dollars and they want to transfer it into your account, or you have just won millions and you need to pay to release the money. what the hell is the matter with these people.

Since Tim is a Turkish-translator, working in Cyprus, he is probably being scammed by Turks who pick up his credentials. No?

The grammar is in fact all wrong so it does actually seem as though those that instigated the scam are in fact Turkish or other foreigners.

A Greek speaker would not make such elementary mistakes.
