So Greece gets a new PM for 12 days who threw some empty rhetoric around and all of a sudden all Greeks have gone from being “non-flamboyant” to “flamboyant”!

I’ll bet 6 months from now when Tsipras doesn’t achieve anything as I predict, you’ll become his biggest enemy and the flamboyance label will go out the window!

You got to give him a chance.

His opponents never even offered any rhetoric, only cowardice. At least they had to look the Germans in the eye when they were negotiating for bridging loans, and a renegotiation of Greece's obligations which do not have Greece's best interest at heart.

Varoufakis knows this and is playing it to the masses. Good for him andGreece. Greece is on its way to an economic miracle much like Cyprus turnaround and economic miracle after the the turk invasion. The model of recovery may be the same.

Hope you're right about the economic miracle part.

There are similarities between Cyprus of 74 and Greece of 2007. 1. Both economies had to transform themselves cyprus was mostly agricultural Greece mostly bureaucratic. 2. No outside stimulus. Cyprus after 74 received 60 million from the Americans for refugee housing. 3. The Greeks of Cyprus went to work in the Arab nations with JP construction. The Greeks are working in the diaspora ie Europe and the usa, both sending back money. 4. The Cypriot pound stayed relatively strong after the war and so has the euro.. Both created spending and thus a self inflicted stimulus and transformation of both economies into the private sectors. This creates jobs and ultimately economic growth.

Got to agree with GR on this one.

I wish I'm wrong.

There's a basis in everything you've said mate.
I'm not disagreeing with anybody.

I'm wishing the Greek government all the luck in the world for the sake of the people who are suffering.
People desperately want to believe something great's gonna come of this and that's understandable.

'Greece revolts against Imperialist Europe and liberates the people from economic dark ages'
Sounds great doesn't it?

i'm a little bit sceptical though.
For Europe to change, Greece needs to change. And I just don't see that happening.

Good luck nonetheless. :)

I can see now how the Greek social media is trying to drag us into another nightmare.

Very interesting indeed.

Cypriots are actually responsible and rightfully so. I am embarrassed too about the DISY bandits! Almost as bad as AKEL and that is saying something! :?

We're a few months away from exiting recession, albeit + 0.5%.
There's a slight decrease in unemployment.
Bank restrictions have all been lifted.

There's a tiny light at the end of the tunnel.
Please, PLEASE lets not fu** it up.
we can't ALL seriously be duped by this charade!

The RoC Government is doing a fine job with their corrupt bungling of Cyprus Airways and the President's conflict of interest.

The Greeks on the one hand are trying to help themselves by convincing the Troika that their economy is in dire need of Stimulus to get the people working and paying tax a whole lot faster.

The sad thing is, that the RoC did nothing to negotiate a better deal when they had the chance under Christofias and got screwed.

It seems to me that the new Greek Government is leading the way and showing very strong potential here, whereas Anastasiades just sent 600 families onto welfare and you guys cheered him on. Bravo!

If they didn't rape the airline of all its money in 2002 - it had no debt then and 75 million in the Bank, then everything would have been fine (Hellas Jet, Eurocypria B737NG, A330 and many more Government scandals).

If I wanted a career as a Garson, then I would migrate to Cyprus but I think I prefer the Middle East.

At least Pilots friggin fly planes. At least the engineers fix planes.

Your politicians and your media and Batman himself think you are all fools!
