we are also moving to cyprus shortly,
and had looked into bringing our car
but according to the websites we have looked on
the car cannot be older than 5 years old, and with household goods you must have owned them for at least six months before moving!

Hi Sophia

Yes, you will need to get Department of Transport permision to import a vehicle over 5 years old; if you intend to work here and therefore not be entitled to Duty Free vehicles, the import duty will be very high as they penalise the import of older vehicles. To import it DF, if you are so entitled, you must have owned the vehicle for at leats six months.

You will not pay Duty on used personal items, even if they are a few weeks old; if they are new take them out of their packages :-)

i have a car for sale and i know the duty will be high but maybe if there is someone who is eligible for duty free vehicle purchase in cyprus they could get in touch? i think its retirees only who can buy cars duty free. its a UK car, mercedes c class, very good condition. the car is in the UK and i am sending it to cyprus to use while im over there and then i would like to sell it on and pay the customs duty. its a 2148cc engine and its 1 year old. contact me for more information: [email protected] and also any advice would be greatly appreciated

i am visiting cyprus for a few months in the summer and i wish to send my car there so its waiting for me when i arrive. i think i can use it duty free for 6 months. is there any other advice you can give me regarding the whole process? it would be helpfull if i could get a copy of form c.104 but i cant locate it online - i just wish to know exactly what information i need to provide the customs officials in cyprus. thank you in advance for any advice you could give me
