I did my research and got some of their prices for March and April and the 2 way return between larnaca and Gatwick prices were similar to the old CA. You also got to add about 50 Euros for 23KG of baggage per person on top if you need to check in luggage.

At the very most, the difference is a measly 50 odd Euros for a full service.

You people are asking for trouble with these LCCs.

Hate reh Paphiti, you're being very naughty... two of the outbounds you quote are the Easter weekends.

.. but looking at your prices, go out on the 28th April and return on the 12th May for a bargain total of 129 Euros ... which is change from 100GB£...!!!

How on Earth can anyone argue with that price.

'ere watchit cousin Cheapo... where you rushing to...???

I am sure Mrs. Cobbet would need to travel with the kitchen sink. Therefore, add 50 euro.

And a return ticket could have been as low as 180 euros but generally around 230 euros - luggage and full service.

Cheap skate carpetbagger!

Errr... well yes, Mrs BillC has been known to pay £100+ in excess on the way back... except for the times she flew back CY Air... cos she has relis, who work/worked for CY Air, she and her mega-heavy cases got nodded through.

Funny, you should mention the fashion cousin. We all used to be dedicated followers of fashion back then.

Would you be in the market for a pair of very collectable flares from the seventies, worn only once and perfect condition. .. oh, and a pair of tan cowboy boots....???

You'd be the height of fashion in Luricina.

I thought not!

M, you are an intelligent and well educated young man, at times though you exhibit such naivety well beyond your levels of intellect. What the F does the 600 job losses have to do with a traveller to Cyprus looking for value for money. I did not cause the loss of jobs, it was a self inflicted loss.

The example you gave on prices is also rather naïve. As Bill said Easter week, other holidays are not a measure of good pricing.
Check my flight from Gatwick on Feb 21st, one way £45. That is value for money.

Grow up and act your age

CA was just as cheap when you can get tickets on sale for 160 to 180 euros return.

Paphitis you are dreadfully WRONG. CA along with BA were consistently the most expensive by far, more than double those prices offered by Easyjet and other airlines. On average, during the last 20 or so years I fly to Cyprus 7 or 8 times, multiply that by 20 and you have more than 140 flights, now multiply this by just £100 and you have a staggering sum of £14,000 , now that is a lot of money you must admit. My forthcoming trip at £45 single is a bargain, coming back I would pay perhaps £60 still a bloody good bargain. CA was NEVER competitive, flew out of Heathrow which does not suit me also.

No it's not a lot of money for that many trips.

One trip to Middle East and Europe is setting me back about that much.

Further to this, you got to add your luggage. it's not so competitive now is it?

You're also comparing a LCC to full service airlines (BA and CA)

As I have said before I do not need luggage, further more Im talking about flights from Gatwick to Cyprus, not from Australia.
I do not go to the ME, What for ??? Cyprus and Belarus are the only two destinations I need. £14000 is a hell of a lot of money, about 3000 bottles of average wine, for me that is, You are obviously a very well off individual Im not, Im almost 69, I have been robbed by Laiki and I look after the pennies, after all I have many many years ahead of me and many bottles of wine waiting for me
