What do you think Strovillia is? They are 2-3 abandoned and dilapidated mud houses in the green line next to the Turkish camp which they conveniently moved to, and you make it sound like Attilla 2!
Greece and Turkey almost went to a war in 1996 because of Imia, which is basically an uninhabited rock in the Aegean. But it seems that for you Turkey expanding its occupation is not a problem!
Even if we forget the fact that Turkey is occupying 1/3rd of Cyprus, cases such as Strovilia, the S-300 fiasco and more recently the NAVTEX issue clearly show that the army of Cyprus is completely unable to defend the territory and interests of Cyprus.

But the fact remains we need the CNG now more than ever as a nucleus for the EU (France, Greece etc even Russia) to have a basis for their joint military manoeuvres and suchlike - which, given the right time, will swoop to remove the Turks.
The Turks needed an excuse to invade and CNG gave it to them. Other countries coming to save us is again a dream. However what I suggested is just the reduction of our army to a small professional one, which would allow Cyprus to provide bases and participate in certain organizations.
If not that excuse then they would find another. The timing was right for the Turks, that's all. This was not the first time they tried.
But, I agree that we only need a core CNG as part of the larger EU forces. Also, since we are not in NATO, we have to maintain strong links with Russia. If NATO wants to woo Cyprus and the EU, in the future, is has to remove rogue states like Turkey.

Yeh right bozo.
As if the British are going to allow mass troop movements on their way to fight the Turkish Military from within their SBA.
get a hold of yourself. Stromvillia is not something to start a war over.
Get Real! wrote:Atheist wrote:You believe in Santa Claus, that Cyprus can win Turkey on its own militarily,...
The answer to that depends entirely on whose side *you'll* be "fighting"...
Will his Rambo-ness stay and fight or will he flee to the SBAs so that he may be shipped out ASAP with the women and children?

That's not how it works bozo.
If we had the power then our army could retaliate at any other location, take back the Kokkina for example.
