I do, although I'm not sure if the TCs were bigger losers than the GCs... Anybody can see that there has been a big improvement in the TC area.

AKEL supported the plan in principle, its only concern was with the guarantees for its implementation. In fact the AKEL leadership stated at the time that if the UN resolution for guaranteeing the implementation was passed they would support the plan, but unfortunately Russia vetoed the resolution.

Even if some of the provisions of the plan were changed more in favor of GCs to the detriment of TCs, the plan would still have been rejected by Papa, because Tassos is unprepared to share power with TCs. Tassos is firmly heading for partition, and he hopes to use the EU to achieve partition under more favorable terms.
