Those who like serving in the army (στρατόκαβλοι) can serve in a small professional army. For me and most people the army was 2 years of our lives wasted. If you question the truth of my statement then I challenge the government to make military service voluntary and then we will see how many 18 years old will join the army for 50 euro per month (or whatever low pay they offer now).

CNG is as dysfunctional as it has always been, and even if it was changed to be more functional it would still be tiny and therefore totally useless against an enemy like Turkey.

You’re contradicting yourself! If the CNG’s current size isn’t good enough for you then what do you expect from a “small professional army”?

And besides, we already have a small professional army running the show we call “monimous” so you’re basically saying that we should just add privates to the monimous aswell so that it’ll go from costing an arm and a leg, to an arm and two legs!

Most emphatically, categorically NO. Cyprus is the motherland of all Cypriots, those that affiliate themselves to either Turkey or Greece can most certainly go and join their fucking motherlands. As a Cypriot, even at the ripe age of almost 69, I will fight to preserve my nationhood, the island of Cyprus.
