İzcan noted that his friendship with Tsipras goes back to the time when Tsipras was member of Athens’ Municipal Council...
İzcan said that he will request from Tsipras and his party to take initiative regarding the Cyprus problem in the framework of “all communities are brothers/sisters” discourse and also to encourage Greek Cypriot leadership regarding resumption of the talks.
Describing Tsipras as a “young democrat in favour of peace” who made an effort for Greek Cypriot’s to say yes to the Annan Plan. İzcan also mentioned that Tsipras’ team has visited north Cyprus and that they have good relations and understanding of the Turkish Cypriot Community.
