Time to fold the corrupt EU… here’s hoping that Syriza will pull Greece out of the Euro-zone to start.

As long as that?

Will they be able to get the 180 votes in Parliament to elect a new President?

Yes, they will, but that's the least of their problems.

BKP (United Cyprus Party) leader İzzet İzcan spoke to Vatan Mehmet of Kıbrıs Postası and evaluated Syriza’s election victory.

İzcan who personally knows the young and charismatic leader of Syriza Alexis Tsipras said that Tsipras has a very good knowledge on Cyprus problem as well as realities of Cyprus. İzcan noted that his friendship with Tsipras goes back to the time when Tsipras was member of Athens’ Municipal Council...

İzcan said that he will request from Tsipras and his party to take initiative regarding the Cyprus problem in the framework of “all communities are brothers/sisters” discourse and also to encourage Greek Cypriot leadership regarding resumption of the talks.

Describing Tsipras as a “young democrat in favour of peace” who made an effort for Greek Cypriot’s to say yes to the Annan Plan. İzcan also mentioned that Tsipras’ team has visited north Cyprus and that they have good relations and understanding of the Turkish Cypriot Community.

Ministers' statements after the first cabinet meeting were clear back pedalling from the pre election bravado. Give a few days more and they will show their true colors.

The conservative left, the major problem of post junta Greece, is alive and well. Any of you notice the copying of Andreas Papandreou's body language and speaking style by Tsipras? That was creepy.

There is one PR advantage though, standing next to Erdo the thug, Tsipras will definitely seem the more civilised leader.
