TC shop owners demand the removal of the bridge in Ledras

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby cypezokyli » Fri Dec 16, 2005 11:29 am

according to politis today, a tc shop owner had a high tense dialog with talat during his walk at the ledras. baris (hope thats right) said to talat : what is it going to happen with ledras ? what is that metal monster that you build there? the answer was its pap fault. baris replied : its been 30 years we are tired of listening of pap, what do you do? u r just following turkeys orders. talat said that it helps our army. baris replied : we dont have our army.

talat left ledras with a sour taste...but such a sour taste stayed in baris as well. he said : people dont want a solution they are just satisfied with the surrent situation.

tomorrow at 11 on the south side of ledras the "citizens for the opening of ledras" are going to protest for the not opening of ledras and demand from pap to open the gate irrispective of what the other side does.
if you are in nicosia tomorrow... please go.
for once believe that the people can make a difference
we need as many baris as possible

Good one cypezokyli.
I don't know if you realise that the word baris(really Barış-I am showing off my turkish fonts now!) means Peace...How apt!Wish I was in Nicosia tomorrow...BARIŞ HEMEN ŞİMDİ...PEACE NOW IN CYPRUS...

Good move, but they should have arranged that for Sunday. There are people warking on Saturday morning.
If I'm not busy I'll definitely go.

AFRIKA: “The hope for Lokmaci died”
Turkish Cypriot daily AFRIKA newspaper (16.12.05), under the title: “The hope for Lokmaci (Ledra street barricade) died”, writes that the Turkish side’s insistence as regards the bridge in the area of Ledra Street obstructed the opening of the barricade there.

As the paper writes the self-styled president in the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus,Mehmet Ali Talat visited yesterday the area near the barricade and met with shop owners. Talat stated that the lifting of the bridge is out of the question. “Why should we lift the bridge? The Greek Cypriot side wants too much”, he said. The paper also noted that the Turkish Cypriot side does not see positively the proposal made by the Greek Cypriots as regards the demilitarisation of the area.
You can read the rest at:

Greek Cypriots - "demilitarisation"
Puppet state - "not positive"
As I said, 1 step forward 2 steps backwards

Push this stupid bridge down. Expose this yet another bluff of Papa; force this liar to sweat and come up with a more ridiculous excuse for not openning the checkpoint; expose his reluctance to open the checkpoint for the whole world to see; pinpoint him as the man who obstructs free movement in Cyprus.

Long live TPap the "OXI" man.

Long live TPap, he wants partitioning as much as I do.

Long live TPap who has/is proving to the world who the real person behind the non-solution to the Cyprus problem is.

Long live TPap and I hope he wins the next Presidential election.

Long live TPap because he is our (TC's) saviour and the reason for the recognition of the TRNC.
