From the very start of this gas caper, the GC side stressed, repeatedly, that the resources belong to all Cypriots. Christofias signed an agreement with Talat on this exact point.

Note that the text uses the English term "fair", the first time this word is used, as opposed to the usual "equally".

I posted on here many times before, that the profits from the gas should be divided equally among all the citizens of the RoC. So as to eliminate any claims by anoyne about "fairness" and "equitability". Cash is a powerful incentive.

However, both the GC and the TC political classes care for their own benefit. There are lucrative "positions" for idle civil servants in any future national oil and gas corporation. Even though we all know that the gas will be extracted and traded by foreign companies that have the means and the knowhow.

Obviously they will not opt for the simple and FAIR solutions of giving every citizen his dividend.

Turkey does not give a flying fuck for the TCs. Sending ships to explore is nonsense, they can buy the ready made exploration analysis for 9 million dollars on the open market. Their goal is to bully Cypriots to give away the gas and the only thing left to them will be the jobs in the national gas company, which for the ruling elites of both communities is the only thing that counts anyhow.

There are precedents for the above, in the systems used to share oil revenues in Kuwait and Norway. Notice how silent our politicians, GC and TC, are on those "models". So silent it is deafening!

Nikita, don't bother with the bullshit of Vordo. "worldbulletin" is a Turkish website which distorted the interview that a Greek diplomat gave to a Greek newspaper. Nothing to do with GC negotiator either... thats just Vordos fantasy.

perhaps you can tell us what was the fair percentage agreed if it was signed for.

did talat not ask christofias to announce the agreed points so far and did christofias not refuse.

Why did Christofias say all oil revenues belong to Cypriots , instead of saying it belongs to the ROC??
