There are laws which forbid these practices in the US.

That there are bad people in the US that break these laws is well known as there are bad people in Cyprus and every country.

They are catching them in Cyprus - now- possibly based on info from other Police forces - good job too - however they do it - The fact of the matter is that the US of A and the UK are places where they are willing to talk openly of the problem (and hopefully now tackle it) but I would not be surprised to find out that that the percentages are pretty similar elsewhere - even possibly here in Cyprus.
